Each board begins with a Fused‑Cell EPS foam core engineered for consistency, buoyancy and controlled flex. At the centre is a multi‑component carbon‑fibre flex control system, replacing the traditional wooden stringer. This internal carbon framework delivers a lively, springy feel with predictable twist and rebound under load.

🧵 Hand‑Laid Carbon & Fibreglass

Every Thunderbolt board is a 100% hand‑laminated epoxy construction, using carefully placed carbon‑fibre and fibreglass layers across the deck, bottom and rails. These reinforcements are tuned to:

  • increase strength without adding weight
  • fine‑tune flex patterns for drive and responsiveness
  • maintain long‑term performance without soft spots or fatigue

Internal carbon components are strategically positioned to control flex throughout the board, giving a consistent, high‑performance feel in all conditions.

The Silver blank includes internal fibreglass flex components and is hand‑laminated with 6oz and 2oz fibreglass cloth on both the top and bottom. While Thunderbolt Silver offers the most traditional feel among Thunderbolt's technologies, it still provides the highest level of flex, boosting performance well beyond that of standard PU boards. Its versatility and predictability make it suitable for a wide range of wave conditions and skill levels.
